5th Annual Hospital Auxiliary Chocolate Lovers Festival

February 2014 - Can’t make it to Godiva or See’s Chocolates in time for Valentine’s Day? Looking for a way to sweeten up your sweetheart? Or maybe you just happen to have a killer recipe for ‘Death by Chocolate’? Either way the Hospital Auxiliary’s Chocolate Lovers Festival is the place for you.
The festival, in its fifth year, brings together Wrangell’s best and brightest chocolate dishes and the people who love them. Join us in the Medical Center Lobby on Saturday, February 8th from 10 am to noon as a contestant or buyer or both.
For the contestants: break out the chocolate stash, dust off the marble slab and create your most decadent chocolate cookie, candy, brownie, cupcake or surprise us, then bring individual servings, along with a special example for the judges to the Medical Center by 9 am on Saturday, February 8th. Judges will award prizes for the best of each category listed above as well as the ‘Best in Show’ and buyers will be happy to help relieve you of the remainder of the servings – with all proceeds going to the Hospital Auxiliary – a sweetheart of a deal for everyone. Furthermore, and new this year, anyone who brings a donation of chocolate goodies will get their name in a drawing for a ‘thank you’ gift (please drop off donations in the lobby by 9 am on Saturday).
For the buyers: purchase a box at the door ($15/box – doors open at 10 am) and fill it with goodies, tie on a bow, and your Valentine will thank you. Or, if chocolate isn’t in the diet plan, check out the silent auction with gift ideas for women AND men or take your chances on the mystery grab bags for $5, $10 $15.
All proceeds assist the Hospital Auxiliary in supporting equipment needs at Wrangell Medical Center.
For more information please call Kris Reed at 874-7196.
