Wrangell Medical Center Foundation
The Wrangell Medical Center Foundation was established in 2007 as a non-profit entity. The Foundation currently supports three programs: Cancer Care, Health Career Scholarships and seeking funding for a Wrangell Medical Center Replacement Facility.
In May, during our main fundraising weekend (Memorial Day weekend), the Foundation also announces the winner of the Janet Buness Award. This award is made in recognition of outstanding effort on the part of a community member or organization to raise the standard of Wrangell's overall health.
Please visit our Cancer Care page for more information on a program, open to residents of Southeast Alaska, which aims to help reduce the cost (and stress) related to traveling outside our communities in order to obtain treatment for cancer.
Much of the support for Cancer Care and our other programs comes from the Foundation's two annual golf tournament weekends: the Brian Gilbert Memorial Tournament held during the Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 28, 2016) and the Rally and Blue Tees for Cancer Care held in mid August. Please take a moment to visit these pages and find out how to become a supporter of the Wrangell Medical Center foundation.
